CollegeDunia Education Portal And College Search Engine Raises a Crore In Angel Funding

A newly launched education portal CollegeDunia in May 2014, has reached to fame by getting almost Rs 1 crore of funding from MIH group’s venture MIH group, Gaadi.com. The founder of CollegeDunia in a report published recently said that CollegeDunia is aimed to become a single point unique search engine for colleges and examinations of all streams. Apart from funding from MIH’s Gaadi.com, there are some undisclosed investors too. The funding has come in the shape of angel funding.

As per Chalana the complete funding will be used in a big way to make technological advance on the portal and rest will be utilized for managing its marketing and operations. Currently with an manpower base of 30, the company sees it to go more than double in next 6 months. Currently there are 1 lac visitors reported and the count is aimed to reach 1 million within next 6 months. 

The portal currently lists over 700 colleges/ institutes and B-Schools in its foray but very soon it plans to include all polytechnic institutes and coaching institutes.
